Is it a record? is a back-to-basics introduction to what records can look like in different environments. This short new module helps Victorian public sector staff build their knowledge of public records, with practical examples and knowledge checks throughout to reinforce learning.

Recommended for new public officers, or anyone who needs to refresh their understanding of when records are created and must be kept.

Get to know: AI and Recordkeeping is a practical introduction to using artificial intelligence responsibly in the workplace. This brand new short introductory module helps Victorian public sector staff understand where AI shows up in everyday tools, what risks it can introduce, and why good recordkeeping is essential for transparency, accountability, and trust.

Learners explore different types of AI, real-world government scenarios, and the recordkeeping practices that helps ensure AI use remains ethical, lawful, and well-documented.

As a Victorian public sector employee, you must manage records according to the Public Records Act 1973. Recordkeeping Essentials will help you understand your responsibilities and ensure proper recordkeeping. It’s for all employees, including those on contracts or working as volunteers. Let’s get started!

Build on PROV’s Recordkeeping Essentials with a practical introduction to digital recordkeeping requirements. Aligned with PROV Standards, this course helps public office staff understand how to lawfully capture, store, secure, retain and dispose of digital records.

The Novice to Know-How (N2KH) learning pathway aims to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to implement basic digital preservation workflows at their organisation. The creation of the learning pathway was funded by The National Archives (UK) as part of their “Plugged In, Powered Up” digital capacity building strategy for the UK Archives Sector. The learning pathway content and design was developed by the Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) in consultation with The National Archives (UK).
